Hi I am Prathiksha student of ABS, comitting the challenge to leave a message on the site.
ReplyDeleteSo here is what I think about your targets:
I think this is a very good idea helping people in poverty around the world , by saying it gives a lot of information on your opinions and why you think you should help them.Plus it gives a brief piece of information on global perspectives.
Hi. I'm Latisha from A1. I'm half Nigerian and half American - two completely different descents, however this does not change the view I have on these goals. I think my view will probably be the same as those of most people. As a human being with a heart and emotions, I think these goals should be achieved and that everyone should try to the best of their ability to help reach these goals. However, realistically speaking, I don't really think that these goals can be reached by 2015.
ReplyDeleteIf every person in the world thought like you and I than yes! We would be able to reach the target, however, unfortunately, not everybody thinks like us. There are many people in this world that are not willing to give up some of their luxuries in order to send a suffering child in a third world country to school, and it is people like this that make reaching this goal harder. As well as that, even though it is believed to be morally right to be equal and for people to have equal opportunities, it is easier said than done. In order for the economies of the countries around the world to function properly, and for markets to succeed some people have to be poor and some have to be rich. Of course, I pray and hope that all the suffering children in developing countries such as Nigeria and India have the chance to experience some of the many things children like us, in developed countries, do, that is not the case. So do I think these goals are achievable by 2015? No. Do I think these goals are achievable in my lifetime? Yes.
Hi, I'm Isabelle from A1. I was born and raised in belgium, but my views are probably the same as everyone else's concerning poverty. Poverty has become one of the biggest concern around the world. Organisations around the world have been sending around pictures and videos to raise awareness of the severity of poverty and its effect. As Latisha said, not everyone thinks like us. People living in developed countries find it difficult to understand the effects of poverty since they have not been exposed to poverty to a huge extent. Therefore, i am not convinced the united nations will reach its goals by 2015. This is for the simple reason that poverty is increasing and the rate as which help is comming is too slow. However, the goals are achievable!
ReplyDeleteWith only 5 years to go with the millenium development goals, the question i ask is it achieveable. In 2015 well in 2000 when it was setup, aim was to provide, universal education ,cutting child mortality, reducing child mortality and others.with the 12 years already passed, there have been so many activities which have made it harder for government and countries to contribute to this development goals, especially the economic recession which made governments all around the world very reluctant to contribute, whilst they have much serious problems within their countries to handle.
ReplyDeleteBut with all the sceptism and doubt that it will be achieved by 2015 the united nation general secretary ban Ki moon say that government should not blame the economy, but with much more work it will be achieved.
In my opinion i believe not a lot has been achieved for the past 12 years and i'm not sure a lot can be achieved within 3 years.but i also believe with much more determination and hard work it will be achieved.
But in reality i don't think its achieveable
Iam Mary Owolabi from class9. I live in Belgium all my life but orginallly come from Nigeria. Concerning this Global Issue on the MDGs I dont think they will accomplish there mission. What they could have done was first tackle smaller issues before going on the the larger and time consuming issue. Plan wisely and you will be able to do anything if not you will fail. Going this far is a big achievement but going the extra mile is the greatest. Not saying they won't achive their goal, just saying at this rate it will be impossible to do it on 2015.
ReplyDeleteI dont think that the MDG will be achieved at the deadline they have set, though there will be some imporovements, for ahving human rights and equalty, but its would not be set until 2015.Even if they are set I am sure that it will go back to noral after one year.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Marys points.
